About David Mikrut
Along with his faith, David was introduced to the outdoors as a child and has been engaged in both ever since.
He describes himself as a rabid outdoorsman, meaning it’s in his blood - far beyond the point of being a diehard. He got his start guiding over 25 years ago and has a lifetime of experiences and accomplishments to draw upon.

As a hunter, Dave has two registered 150-class Pope & Young whitetails, two other unregistered “bookers” and several others that are close. He also guided a client to shoot a 160-class dandy on one of his set-ups.

Besides big game, Dave's office (trophy room) boasts several bird mounts including a turkey mount scoring 115.5 NWTF points and an extremely rare piebald mallard; plus he has an impressive line-up of waterfowl bands to his credit ranging from teal to swans.

When it comes to fishing, he is no slouch either. Dave qualified for the top ranked national tournaments while fishing the Bassin' America circuit 20 years ago and was ranked 31 out of 1276 nationally. The total numbers of large fish he has caught in various species are far too numerous to mention.

"One of my greatest joys is to out-produce those who think their success is directly related to the price of their equipment."

Dave has proven this time and again, both in the hunting and fishing arenas. He gets a high level of personal satisfaction demonstrating how experience and skill can prevail over what money buys alone, and his results speak for themselves.

Listen to what another outdoor guru has to say....

"David Mikrut has been cruising the forests and sloughs of the Mississippi backwaters since before he could walk. I've known him since I was 12 years old, and some of my fondest boyhood memories include Dave, an outboard motor, and a 12-gauge shotgun chasing waterfowl on the big river. Few people understand the river valley and the critters that dwell in it as well as Dave. It's in his blood. And like most river rats, he's got character and personality in spades. Spend a day with Mikrut, and you'll have an experience you'll never forget."
