We want to dedicate at least one show per season (possibly more) to the “home brewed”
and/or “from the trenches” type of shows, but ultimately it will depend on the amount
and quality of footage sent in to us.
Although the contest grand prize is only open to solo hunter/videographers (or solo
fisher/videographers), all segments that are aired –- whether hunting or fishing
and/or filmed solo or with a partner– will be eligible to receive prizes according
to what we have available.
Rules are common sense. The contest runs from June first to June first of every
year. There are no limits on number of entries. Multiple entries may be sent together,
but each entry must be on its own media. Please include all contact info with each
entry sent.
Each entry is judged on:
- Substance captured (uncommon, awesome and unique),
- Picture quality (steadiness, framing, focus, staying on action,
etc),
- Completeness of story (this is where most fall short - capturing
initial events as they happen are usually better than staged events afterward because
the essence of the moment is lost),
- Style/personality (don’t try to be anybody other than yourself,
it usually has the opposite effect of what you were trying to accomplish),
- Audio quality (this is last because cussing, rubbing of mic, etc.
is bad, but poor audio can be far more easily fixed than poor video).
Don’t worry whatever about blunders that happen while filming – sometimes it’s those
things that actually add to the story and makes it more enjoyable overall.
You can send your outdoor endeavors in virtually any format on tape or disc,
but if you want your media back you'll have to pay to have it returned. Also, if you have personal outings already captured on tape and would like
to have a chance to have them seen on national television, by all means send them
in. Use the address on the
contact page and if you have any questions or suggestions,
please, let us know.
If you have ideas for diversity in upcoming shows or potential destinations that match our philosophy, please take a minute to drop
us a line. We would also be interested in hearing from you if you
would like us to come hunt/fish your honey hole as an episode showcasing your "E-FISH-NC"
style and methods to "make it happen".
