"THERE IS NO SUCH
THING AS A PASSIVE PATRIOT" -
Kayne Robinson
Think about it… Either you
are fighting for our cause or not. Just displaying a US flag doesn't automatically
qualify anyone as a patriot. (A great number of U.S. flags are not even made in
the U.S.A.). Reflect for a moment whether you're backing America by resisting the
invading force, or welcoming it and becoming a traitor.
The trouble is when we want
something, we want it now. We have become an undisciplined society, impulsively
buying cheap trinkets. We're denying the American worker and ruining our own economy
by looking to save pennies on almost every product; yet we think nothing of spending
$1 for a bottle of water.
Let's not attempt side stepping
this issue by using the INTERNATIONAL MARKET/GLOBAL ECONOMY song and dance. Granted not everything
can be found American-made, but there are varying degrees of American labor on most
products. If we can't find 100% American-made, we need to look for assembled in
U.S.A. or made from U.S. components.
We also realize American-made
products can be substantially higher priced and may not fit into everyone's budget.
Therefore, consider a personal crossover point like we would seek for value (to
get the most for our money based on what we can afford). This crossover point will
be different for everyone; however we all should make an effort to purchase American-made
products to the highest extent practical.
One exception, we should also be aware of what companies do with
their money after it has been received from the consumer. Why would anyone want
to support a company - American or not - when that company actually uses its money
against the consumer? This can have several different applications, ranging from
directly acting against one's livelihood to verbally maligning another's ideals.
For example, it would be absolutely foolish for the hunting community to support
companies that have anti-hunting or gun control stances, but this happens far more
than most realize.
Ultimately, we dictate the direction that businesses
move by the money we give to them or withhold from them… Think about it.
