We are working to change the direction of industry (and consumerism) where there is too much emphasis placed on the perception of the product and not the performance of the product.
It seems all too many consumers look at the two extreme ends in the world of buying; either they want the very top end of products (for bragging, to say they have the best) or the very bottom end (spending the least per item to try to get the most cumulative items). What many fail to realize is that we can get buried by greed from both ends of the spectrum.
The nineties ushered in a new era; families got smaller and homes got bigger. Even with larger homes, there still wasn’t enough room in the basement or garage to house all of our desires. So, to help us, mini-storage units popped up like dandelions in a spring lawn. The sad truth is far too many people still possess the lack of mature thinking to recognize what is really needed… real value for practical applications.
“It’s not the dollars… it’s the sense” is not just a catch phrase, it’s a way of living life. It’s about being shrewd with all ventures (time, money, labor, etc.) and proper utilization of the resources at hand. The idea is not to skimp on anything, but rather to get the most out of everything – keeping a mindset for finding the crossover point with the greatest returns on every investment, whatever that may be. Ultimately, it’s not about getting by with less, but rather to get more from what you have.
E-FISH-NC Outdoors
is here to reveal that we can still have it all without trying to buy or possess everything. We just need to take a step back (from our self-indulgent, lusting for instant gratification) and become willing to put more thought and more of ourselves into what we do. When we can attain this, not only does gratification naturally come to the surface, but life as a whole has more meaning because value is once again placed on things that were previously viewed as insignificant.
Our show was not a brainchild for a specific advertisement niche (although it has become this to some extent), instead the real focus was to change a way of thinking in much of society; it’s all about how things can be done differently and more effectively.
Although there are plenty of other programs in the outdoor field, there are none that cater to such a principle of efficiency (hence the name) or to doing things completely solo. With host David Mikrut,
E-FISH-NC Outdoors spotlights innovative methods and products throughout the outdoor arena, plus real life endeavors that show true devotion to the various pursuits. He shows just what it takes to “make it happen” with maximum efficiency.
Along with the above, Dave hosts friends and guests that embrace many of these same ideals on a variety of outdoor adventures.

The tips typically posted can be utilized by either groups or individuals, but the discerning measure is individual use. Most of us get more pleasure pursuing our outdoor endeavors with others, but that is not always possible for many. Those truly passionate about outdoors will continue on alone - just to be a part of it. Our tips focus on these people because, all too often, we have been one of them.
The tips we post on the website must meet
E-FISH-NC Outdoors' standards. All candidates are carefully reviewed and field-tested by

Posted tips have made it into our personal bag of tricks. They have dictated change in how we pursue the outdoors and we use them regularly in the given season.

Among other things, we’re trying to provide a consumer advocacy for outdoor products and services.
We have been blessed to have the vision we do; and it has been our good fortune to form relationships with some companies that share our vision. However, just because we endorse a company doesn’t necessarily mean that there is blanket approval on all they make available. Conversely, if we really like a certain product or products doesn’t translate to mean that we approve of the company. (There are several examples available, but this is not the place to cite them.)
Also, if we don’t endorse a product, that by no means indicates that it doesn’t work – virtually all products functionally work as they are supposed to – chances are the product just may not render into a proper efficiency ratio of output/input. In order to get an endorsement rating, these products must be in the highest ratio of benefit as compared to cost for the outdoorsman. Essentially, this could be compared to a consumer reports “best buy”, but the difference (at this point) is that we are choosing to give no one a black eye and only listing top rated products.
(Although we have definitely found products to stay away from, it is not in our best interest to disclose these and potentially alienate ourselves within the industry when we are still trying to build a library of the various products and grow as a company. If anyone desires to know products to stay away from, please contact us with specific products in question and we will give you as much truth as we know about them.)

Things were initially compared chiefly on a monetary scale until later when the bargain mentality collided with the need of longevity; the hard truth is that sometimes cheap really means cheap. So, what started out as a desire to do everything better for less (financially), then became an issue of value.
Eventually, considerations of time and effort were factored in as well, and as we got deeper into our passions, the
E-FISH-NC Outdoors principles really
started to shine through. Learning what we liked and what we didn’t like in various products and/or trying to fill voids where no products
were available led into tinkering with products we already had, creating better use of those products and sometimes creating new and completely
different uses for them. However, in the course of experimenting with some of these products, we found occasions where we had to change our
thought process and/or methodologies for more efficient undertakings.
Similar refinement still continues today as we travel various paths of trial and error, but the aspiration to do everything with greater efficiency has led us to analyze all we come into contact with. Even though this scrutinizing can be time consuming and sometimes tedious, we find it to be very gratifying because we know the research we do has meaning. Maintaining this clear focus on finding the “true best” - that which is grounded in logic and reality - has been and will always be a foundational concept with
E-FISH-NC Outdoors. This quest for truth has become a driving force to keep us on task and hopefully gets ever closer to the mark.
